Located near Tsuruhane-jinja and Myojoin-ji, north of Hiroshima JR station close to Tokiwa-bashi Bridge.

It had recently (sometime before March 2003) been cut down. Only the stump remains. A priest said that Air pollution was a problem in the area and many trees in the area were dying. The tree was being preserved and a memorial is currently (March 2003) being made.
