These are just some of the places we have visited in person.

Gallery 1: A-L

Gallery 2: M-Z

Australia: hungry crocodile

Australia: Lunch time somewhere in the Northern Territory. I was taking a picture of two beady little eyes eyeing a wild chook when...

Austria: street sign

Austria: road sign. So yeah, nice country - Mozart balls, Freud's house (he's got a color travel guide to California in his bookcase) ummm well-manicured lawns, efficient trams, the Alps, Italy for a neighbour, The Sound of Music Tour - $4.95 or something like that, sleigh rides & oh , when I broke a contact lens they replaced it right away.

Canada: west of Calgary

Canada: Calgary, Alberta. I bet everyone wishes they had a backyard that looks like this. This is Dave's mum's backyard in summer - not much snow;-). In winter there's a sign at the airport that reads "Canada: closed for winter", as there is often so much snow that even the ice fields and ski resorts are closed.

China: beggerwoman

China: Dali, Yunnan Province. What a face!! She was the local begger. Her line "I've a hole in my pocket." Then came the smile. I couldn't resist. The price for a photo... my plate of french fries.

Czech Republic: the clock Czech Republic: Budapest. Purdy!!! Just close your eyes as the train goes past all of those commie apartment blocks. Denmark: mermaid

Denmark: the best damn country in the whole wide world. If only it were a little bigger and further south :(

England: Buckingham Palace

England: Buckingham Palace, London. The changing of the guards... so prim and proper. The band came forth, all dignity and discipline, and what did they play... "Teddy Bears Picnic" :) Ahh... the British.

Fiji: a waycool beach

Fiji: a way cool beach. I was 10. I was in heaven. Some of the locals wanted to buy me - guess curly blonde hair and blue eyes were thier thing - negotiations fell through though. I guess it was for the best... if I had been sold I would of had to have spent the rest of my life on that way cool beach. Bummer.

France: a 'nice' building

France: ummm, nice buildings, snotty people, coffee is grand if you can get a waiter's attention long enough to actually order, graffiti, Versailles is way cool, the Eiffel Tower isn't really that tall in real life, trains are so so, Spain is actually more fun.

Germany: Munich streetscene

Germany: Munich - a bit like Austria but bigger.

Hong Kong: Victoria skyline

HongKong: big, busy and bursting at the seems with sights and smells to delight - kinda like an overgrown chinatown in any western city. I stayed in a hostel in one of those buildings you are likely to see on the front page with the headline: "Firetrap Guttered all killed" It was truly a sight to behold.

Hungary: streetscene

Hungary: Buda Hmm.. gotta love that fish head soup. And that paprika whoa whoa! And the car bombs courtesy of the Central European mafia. Soot, cheap movies, really bad health care. And many, many Mcdonalds.

Indonesia: Java, Borobudur.

Indonesia: Borobudur AD 800, Java. Hugely diverse country. I swam beaches. Hiked up & into live volcanos. Relaxed in natural hot springs surrounded by jungle. Saw Komodo dragons, orangutans, & sundry other wild animals: including enough leaches to last a lifetime or two. Explored the Buddhist ruins of Borobudur, the Hindu ruins of Pranbanam, terraced rice paddies, rubber tree plantations, coffee & tea fields, rainforests, slums & skyscrapers. And discovered 101 different ways to make banana pancakes for breakfast. Loved the coffee too - just remember to wait until the grains settle before drinking.

Ireland: ring of kerry

Ireland: somewhere in the ring of Kerry. My first thought: This is so green. My second: This is so green. My third: This is so green. You get the picture. At least now I understand why green is Irelands national color.

Roma: Michaelangelo's Moses

Italy: Michaelangelo's Moses, Roma. Best memory - sitting of the very steps of the building where Marc Antony gave his "Friends, Romans, Countrymen lend me your..." speech and listening to a visiting professor (with a flair for drama) give said speech. Yes, I know it was written by Shakespeare... but hey! I was in Roma and had had one too many expresso's.

Japan: Itsukashima Shrine

Japan: Itsukushima Shrine, Miyajima. Known as one of the tree most beautiful places in Japan - as everyone can tell you. What they can (or rather can't) also tell you is what the other two are! Japan is our home away from home. It's the only country that makes Canada & Australia seem like a second world nations. More or less polite people, although kids these days.....

S. Korea: drum

S. Korea: Taegu drum. Ahhhhh... Great food but stay away from the dog food restaurants.
